The Australian Bluewater Freediving Classic was held on the weekend of 16 and 17 March 2024. We had challenging weather conditions that made the weekend be condensed into 1 day of diving. With some large seas, boats headed out to find warm blue water rushing down out wide. However, there was generally an absence of decent fish with the main catch being taken from the local barracuda population.

Congratulations to Jarrod McKenzie for picking up the Thwaites Marine Open Champion as well as Mo Tackle's Most Meritorious. He did extremely well to find quality fish in such challenging conditions.

Special mention to Justin Brooks who won the veterans division despite having a very close encounter with a 3.5m great white.
